Another little project! The speaker drivers I’m using (as do most) have circular flanges that should be recessed when the drivers are installed. The proper way to make this recession is with a router and “circle jig,” which lets the router swing around in a circle of adjustable radius. Circle jigs (for some reason) cost around fifty bucks for a simple enough piece of plastic, though, so I decided to make my own. This is a thin strip of fiberboard, with two severed screws sticking up that fit into holes in the router base, four carefully measured holes that I can stick a nail through to anchor as pivot points (two for the recessions for the drivers and two for the final hole cuts), and a 1” gap for the router bit to stick down through. It’s super simple, and saved me a lot of money.
