These are the baffles for my speakers. (An explanation: When a speaker cone vibrates it repeatedly compresses and expands the air inside the enclosure. This sound pressure inside the box will make the walls of the box move in and out slightly. Any vibrating surface, though, produces sound, and sound not coming from the speaker cone means distorted output, so you put these baffles inside the enclosure to help brace the walls and keep them rigid. The holes in them are to save weight, allow air to move, maximize internal volume, and make room for the down-firing bass reflex port, which sticks up through the inside of the speaker). I made the cutouts with a jigsaw a few nights ago, and have yet to round them (with a router). There are actually only three baffles *inside* each box, but I have the top and bottom panels in this stack too, which makes five per enclosure and ten total. That’s a lot of MDF.
